Gepco was established on the 25th of April 1998. Gepco was permitted to start operations on the 5th of June 1998. Govt of Pakistan decided to create a system that could handle all water resources in the production of electricity to satisfy the nation’s needs, and the WAPDA department was established. It was the second-largest personnel department within Pakistan, following the Pak Army.
In the early part of 1998, WAPDA divide into two major sectors WAPDA and PEPCO (Pakistan Electric Power Company). As of today, WAPDA only deals with water resources, while PEPCO is a part of the GENCO (Generation companies), NTDC (National Transmission and Dispatch Company), and DISCO’s(Distribution Companies)

WHAT IS FPA IN GEPCO BILLS?
FPA stands for fuel price adjustment. It is a charge that appears on the GEPCO bill through its name (NEPRA). This is not an ongoing cost, but it changes with date and time. It is also charged at different rates in the Gepco invoice each month.
IS FPA REMAINS THE SAME?
No. There is no way to know. FPA in Gepco Bills doesn’t stay the same. It changes as time passes. Sometimes, when the price of fuel increase, the PFA debits in the Gepco bill.

QTR = (Units used x1.61)
